How do auctions work on IAFAuctions?

May 7th, 2008

The bidding module is located at the top of the left sidebar on all pages and posts on IAFAuctions. To bid, simply click “Bid Now”, enter your name, a valid email address, and your URL (optional), then enter the maximum amount you’d like to bid.

You don’t need to register or have a special account! Just a valid email.

Maximum Bid

Just as with eBay, the amount you enter in this field represents the highest amount of $ you’d like to bid. However, the current bid will always be the lowest amount available.

For instance, if you enter a maximum bid of $50 but the current minimum bid price is $15, then your bid will be $15 until someone else comes along and bids. If they bid anywhere from $15 - $49.50, your bid will be higher. If they bid $50.50, theirs will be the highest bid.

So when you enter your initial bid, put in the maximum amount you’d be willing to pay should you be the winner.

If You Win An Auction

We’ll contact you, via email, within 24 hours of the auction ending with instructions on how to pay. You have 48 hours to answer the email and confirm your purchase. If we don’t hear from you within 48 hours, we’ll offer the piece to the next lowest bidder. The email will come from the gmail address: iafbead, so please add that address to your spam whitelist or address book to ensure you receive it. If you don’t hear from us within 24 hours of the auction ending, please contact us at the above address.

Shipping

All pieces are shipped via Priority Mail in the US, so the base price is $4.50. This includes a tracking #. If you’d like to purchase insurance, please let us know when we send your notification email. If you reside outside of the US, shipping price will be calculated based on your location. Express shipping is available to any location as long as you’re willing to cover the expense.

I’m sorry to be so thick-headed but I can’t figure out if the Mia Nutick pendant beginning, “And I in love…” has already been sold or if it hasn’t been put up yet. How do I find out about that pendant?

    Thanks!

Hmmm, I tried to bid, filled everything out except the URL and it said that my email address wasn’t there. But it was.

Try doing so with a URL? It can be fake.
