The Salon Continues

May 17th, 2008

The Interstitial Salon continues to be very interesting this weekend. Authors Rachel Pollack, Leslie What, and Jon Singer joined in a few days ago and added greatly to the discussion.

There are a lot of threads we’re picking up and chewing over, but this question from Elise is particularly crunchy:

When you make art of some kind, whether it’s writing a story or making some shiny thing or other, do you feel the impetus in your mind, or as a sort of pull in parts of your body, or something else? Is it different for different arts, for you?

Lurk and absorb or register on the board and join in.

Insterstitial Salon - Jewelry, Text and Art

May 12th, 2008

Of interest to people following this auction: The Interstitial Arts Foundation is hosting an online salon/discussion about creating visual art inspired by texts, about the relationships between narrative and wearable art, the cultural history of personal adornment — anything we can think of. Participants include K. Tempest Bradford, JoSelle Vanderhooft, Elise Matthesen and… you! The salon starts today, so come by and join in (or just lurk).
